General Information

This race will take place Feb. 15, 2004.
The information below has NOT been updated yet from 2003's race. Please check back for Martin's update soon.
Wheelchairs will start @6:55 AM, Runners @7:00 AM.
There will be twenty-six (26) buses and a mini-bus for slow runners.

All bus routes will ultimately start and stop on Riverside Drive east of Dawson Road.
The Bus stop monitors, with the help of the Bus radio operator, will notify the runners where the bus is headed next. I expect that several buses will be at each stop during the race, so that one bus can be designated for the start line and another for the finish line, etc.

Bus radio operators and Bus stop monitors should have a radio with them at all times. Headsets are recommended but not required.

Buses with runners on board should not wait longer than 15 minutes before moving to the next stop. Bus radio operators should check-in with Net Control when arriving and departing each bus stop.

The Net Control station should know where every bus is at all times though a global positioning satellite (GPS) system mounted on each bus and/or voice communication.

There will be a radio operator on each bus who is in contact with the Net Control station.

Bus routes consist of the following stops:

Start              At Tudor and Loop 1 (MoPac)
Half Race        13.1 mile (1/2 way) Colorado and 10th Street

Half Parking     13.1 mile (1/2 way) Between 12th and 13th St. on Trinity (Waterloo Park)
Finish             Palmer Events Center (Barton Springs Road)

At the Starting Line

Prior to the start of the race, the buses will move runners from Finish and Half Parking to the start line. Also, the Start bus stop will change location after the start of the race; see the Start line bus stop instructions.

At the 13.1 Mile Bus Stops

The 13.1 Mile Finish Line will have a yellow sign mounted on a ten-foot tall pole that will contain directions to the Half Race and Half Parking bus stops. There will be a corresponding sign at the Half Race and Half Parking bus stops containing directions to other two locations.

Bus stop monitors notify Central Control when there are no more passengers to pick up. Use the times below as a guide.

Half Race Timeline:

First Runner Expected: 8:05 AM

Slowest Runner: 10:29 AM

Buses will be returning people to the Half Parking stop as needed.

Radio - Bus Setup Information

Martin will be on 147.32 traveling to site.
Some buses will be set up on Saturday afternoon.
We will do as many as available and finish the rest on Sunday morning.
Bus radio operators should be at Dawson Road by 4:00 AM to set up their bus.

Radio and tracker equipment needs to be easy and quick to install.
There will be people to assist in setting up the buses.
Tracker and tracker boards have an extra Power Pole connector for connecting your handheld. You will be given two pair in advance of the event. If you need help, please contact Martin well in advance of the race day

Here are two links to make sure you assemble the PowerPole connectors. <http://www.powerwerx.com/assembly.asp>
